Lopez-led companies First Philippine Holdings Corporation (FPH) and First Gen Corporation (First Gen) have been honored by the Institute of Corporate Directors for their outstanding corporate governance at the 2024 Golden Arrow Award ceremony on Sept. 19, 2024. First Gen received two Golden Arrows, while FPH received one Golden Arrow. Other Lopez-controlled publicly listed companies, ABS-CBN Corporation and Lopez Holdings Corporation, were also recognized with awards, demonstrating the Lopez Group's unwavering commitment to exceptional corporate governance.
The Golden Arrow Award is a prestigious award given by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) to honor the top Philippine Publicly Listed Companies (PLCs) for exceptional corporate governance practices based on the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) assessment results. The ICD is a non-stock and not-for-profit organization that is dedicated to advancing the professionalization of Philippine corporate directorship. The ACGS, an initiative of the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum to improve the corporate governance standards and practices of PLCs, measures a company's performance in key areas such as shareholder rights, stakeholder relations, transparency, accountability, and board oversight. To secure a Golden Arrow, a PLC must achieve an ACGS score of at least 80 points, with 5 distinct levels determined by this score.
The awards were accepted by Lorraine N. Dychiao and Javi P. Bautista of the FPH/First Gen Legal and Regulatory Group (LRG) at the Golden Arrow Recognition ceremony held at the Manila Marriott on September 19, 2024.
